Where It All Began

Our Story

In 1989, we took on a run-down piece of land and made a promise to bring it back to life. Nearly four decades later, that promise has become a thriving longhorn cattle ranch and a protected agricultural space where the herd roams freely and the land is cared for the way it deserves.

Today

Today, the ranch is home to a herd of Texas Longhorn cattle, raised for both rescue and meat, alongside Angus cattle raised for meat, and a growing number of rescue horses given a second chance to graze these hills. Beyond our own herds, we lease portions of the property to support agricultural development and regenerative agriculture practices, helping the land stay productive, healthy, and working for generations to come.

Sanders Ranch is more than a working ranch. It's a commitment to responsible land stewardship, animal welfare, and preserving a piece of California's agricultural heritage.
